Clutch fine. matrix_66 said: Hi I have a 2014 Kia ceed 1.6 diesel 128 break it has hundred thousand miles and it is quite hard to change gears and does crunch a bit when putting into reverse but does not slip at all. Reverse doesn't have synchromesh and a crunch is usually not clutch drag. If you disengage the clutch and immediately try to go into reverse KIA Ceed 2023, 840km range, bought two weeks ago. Like normal, I pulled out of my parking space with reverse gear, switched to first gear, drove to an intersection, and stopped to turn right. After waiting for oncoming traffic to go past I switch to first gear and try to move. As soon as I started releasing the clutch I rolled a little backward

Meanwhile, I can't think I've read of much going wrong with them. It's a widely used motor (both charged and uncharged) in the Hyundai/KIA empire, there must be lots of units on big mileages. The sooner you can recognize the following warning signs, the better it will be for your car and your wallet. 1.) Uneasy gear shifting. Gears are directly integrated with the transmission. Some shifting problems include falling out of gear, gears shifting on their own, and gears jerking when being shifted. 2.) If this purely a software issue, it is much easier and can be reflashed or the ECU fully replaced. If a hardware issue, it is probably crucial actuators / sensors in the 'Mechatronics' (a dreaded term known to Skoda owners of which I am one), i.e. the electro-mechanical brain of the DCT is malfunctioning. The easiest way to do it is to grab the engine and try to swing it side to side. If this does not move, you will need someones help.
