You can use 700c wheels on most standard MTBs provided they’re disc brake and provided you only use narrow tyres. (The overall wheel diameter of a 700c wheel with a 23mm slick tyre on is only slightly bigger than a 26″ wheel with a 2.2 tyre on). There are of course 29er MTBs, which are designed to use 700c wheels.
Specialized P.4 27.5″. Finally, for those wanting the ride of the P.3 but with bigger wheels, the new P.4 upsizes to 27.5″ wheels and tires. It also gets a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork with 100mm of travel, an aluminum frame, and single-speed drivetrain. The price is slightly higher at $2,100, but the frame is also available for $700.
A dropper post can be installed on downhill bikes as long as it’s compatible with the seat tube. The selected dropper post should be sufficiently long to elevate the saddle for comfortable pedaling. A dropper makes it easier to pedal a downhill bike uphill but can’t compensate for the geometry of the bike which simply isn’t designed for

You can put 27.5-inch wheels on a 26-inch wheel mountain bike if the following are true: The bike fork clearance can accommodate a 1” greater wheel radius, measured from the axle to the top of the tire vs. the axle to the top clearance point of the fork. The old and new wheel axles are the same widths. The rear wheel gearing cassette is

Yes. As long as the fork/head tube are tapered 1.5/1.125 (99.99% of good single crown mtb forks are) it would fit. You would raise the 'stack' of the bike, shorten the 'reach', and raise the BB height. If you use a 27.5 wheel these would be pretty small changes, with a 29 wheel up front they would be bigger changes.
The short answer is: yes, you can put 27.5 inch wheels on a 29er bike, but there are a few considerations you should take into account first. 27.5 inch wheels are smaller than 29er wheels, so the bike will have a slightly lower center of gravity and lower stand-over height. This can result in a more nimble, responsive ride than a 29er.

Best Overall Gravel Bike: Specialized Diverge Pro Carbon. In a sea of familiar geometry, the Diverge ($7,500) is a standout. Specialized clearly put some thought into how fit translates to feel
I’ve put 26” wheels in a 27.5” frame and fork (in fact initially with a 26” fork), seems to work just fine—although it wasn’t really with the intention of later fitting larger wheels
3344 posts · Joined 2009. #11 · Dec 31, 2018. I went with a x fusion velvet which I got new for about $200 a few years back to go 27.5 with straight steer tube. The fork is actually a 26 fork, but by installing a 10mm internal spacer and limiting it to 90mm if travel it allowed a 27.5x2.3 or so to fit.
700c wheels accelerate slower- Because the wheels are heavier, it takes more energy to get them rolling. 700c wheels don’t spin up as fast as 26 inch wheels. Starting from a stop is harder. When coasting down a hill, it takes longer to get to speed. This makes stop and go city riding harder and slower.
It also means running 27.5" wheels on this frame shouldn't really give any extra standover compared to the M001 on 26" wheels. Stack Should be around 29mm higher - this is a little trickier to compare as there are no official figures for the M001, but see the below assumptions. Add 17mm for a 27.5" 100mm fork vs 26" 100mm
I also run a 140mm fork, and 27.5 x 2.8 wheels/tires. buy a 27,5 fork and put a 26``wheel with a fatter tyre. More forks choice, more versatility in case you change your bike / your mind

The bike is officially 28” sized but after going through the specs and doing a couple measurements I’m confused as to what size I really need. The current fork (28” as mentioned) has a axle-to-crown length of 405 mm. The Ogre fork, advertised as 27.5” to 29” has a whopping 447 mm while the 26” is at 420 mm (spec’d and measured).
PRESS RELEASE: Marzocchi. Marzocchi has released a new Bomber DJ fork today. The fork features 100mm of travel and is designed around the same 36mm chassis as the Z1 but in a 26" wheel
Free Member. I’ve been using a 27.5 160mm Pike on my Mega with 26″ wheels for the past year for exactly the same reasons. No issues and it has paid off now with a transplant to my new 27.5
A 26x2.8 measure 27.4 inches, fits just fine in my 26" fox 36 or rockshox Lyrik. X fusion made a fork ( the metric) that they didn't bother to change for 27.5 cause it had plenty of clearance. You can't run big tires, but 2.3 usually work. To be clear, I'm talking specifically about the 35/36mm 160mm+ forks
The Spawn fork will be better and is a 26" fork so the stack will fit better out of the box. Cub Scout - this could compete with the Spawn but the wheels and tires are just to heavy and out of place. Big i30 wheels with heavy 2.5 minions will suck the fun out of those dirt jumpy sessions.
